Huge cycad sale—up to 75-80% off

Jurassic Garden, aka A&A Cycads, is one of the largest and most respected cycad nurseries in the U.S. Owner Maurice Levin is a leading cycad expert and their website, www.cycadpalm.com, is a treasure trove of information. I’ve bought from them before and have been very happy with my purchases.

Last night I received an email blast reporting that the nursery has lost its lease and needs to move next month. As a consequence, they have discounted their entire available stock by up to 75-80%. Yes, you read right: All plants are up to 75-80% off with a minimum purchase of $400, which translates to $80-100 after the discount. For purchases between $100 and $399 you receive a 50% off discount.

If you think $400 is a lot to spend, yes, it is, but cycads are notoriously expensive, especially the rarer species. But now you have the opportunity to snag a beautiful specimen of that cycad you’ve always wanted for pennies on the dollar. Just take a look at what you can buy:

Encephalartos horridus

Dioon angustifolium

Cycas panzhihuaensis

And if you think cycads are only for tropical climates, take a look at this page. There are quite a few cycads that are hardy into the low 20s or even the teens.

In addition to cycads, Jurassic Garden also sells select succulents and caudiciforms, including rather choice species such as Boophone haemanthoides and Australian xanthorrhoeas that are almost impossible to find in the U.S.

Boophone haemanthoides

I took advantage of this offer to order a few plants, including a Cycas debaoensis, an ultra-rare cycad from Southern China that wasn’t even described until 1996. I plan on putting it in the ground in the backyard.

Disclosure: I’m posting this simply as a service to fellow plant lovers. I have no commercial interest in Jurassic Gardens nor was I compensated in any way for this post.
