As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Kyle and will have a plant sale on Halloween to make room for — you guessed it — more plants. Both of us are passionate about propagation so we’re always making more. We just can’t help ourselves.

| K & G |
The sale will be at our friend Eric’s property in West Sacramento, and it will coincide with Eric’s open garden for the Sacramento Cactus and Succulent Society (SCSS). You don’t have to be a member of the SCSS to see Eric’s garden or come to our sale.
WHAT:
- Kyle and Gerhard’s plant sale
- Eric’s open garden
WHEN:
- Saturday, October 31, 2026
10 am to 2 pm
WHERE:
I blogged about Eric’s place earlier in the summer (here). The central area of his garden is a unique collection of metal containers Eric made from objects he found on his property, which has been in the family for 50+ years. They’re filled with a wide variety of succulents — cacti large and small, agaves, aloes, etc. I’ve seen many gardens, but never anything quite like this.
Here are a few photos I took last weekend:

| Eric's shade house |
Our plant sale will be in the shade house you see in the photo above. Over the last five months, Kyle and I have gradually moved more and more plants from our own backyard “nurseries” to Eric’s. Without this space, Kyle and I wouldn’t be able to do what we’re doing. We’re very lucky to have found a situation that works so well for everybody involved.
Kyle and I aren’t in this to make money. Our goal is to share our passion with others and to bring landscape-ready succulents to Northern California. Most of the plants we have are simply not available in mainstream nurseries.
Here are some photos of the inside of the shade house and the plants that will be for sale:

 |
| ...and more aloes |
 |
Lots of aloe
|
 |
| Larger agaves, too |
 |
| And a few terrestrial bromeliads like hechtias and dyckias |
Here’s a list of plants we’ll have available:
Most plants will be $5, $10, $15, or $20. Some larger specimens will be priced a bit higher. Cash only. Please bring your own box.
Coincidentally, the UC Davis Arboretum will have their first public sale the same day, Saturday, October 31, from 9 am to 1 pm (more info here). You could swing by their sale first and then head over to see us in West Sacramento, a 25-minute drive from the Arboretum Teaching Nursery. Our sale goes from 10 am to 2 pm.
And if that isn’t enough, the West Sacramento IKEA is just 10 minutes from Eric’s place.
It looks like the weather will be cooperating, too:
I don’t want to post the address of Eric’s property publicly. If you’re interested in joining us,
please email me and I’ll give you directions.

Best wishes to both of you on your sale! I wish you were were closer.
