I imagine that the ones sold in California come from one of the large succulent growers in San Diego County.

Sago palms are very common here both as landscaping plants and in pots. But they're such slow growers that larger specimens are very pricey--heck, even small ones are expensive for what you get. We bought a small one right after we moved into our house in 1997 and it's finally reached a decent size (4 ft wide x 3 ft tall), but it's still years from blooming.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-52212288311999262772011-01-23T10:35:01.086-08:002011-01-23T10:35:01.086-08:00Nice little haul and a bargain, IKEA still amazes ...Nice little haul and a bargain, IKEA still amazes me what you can find there.

I remember causing a little IKEA sensation on a gardening forum a few years ago, when I posted a photo of a bargain Cycad revoluta with around 14" of trunk. A commonly available plant here but somehow still expensive.

Whereabouts did the succulents originally come from? Just curious as all of the plants sold in Europe come from The Netherlands.Mark and Gazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09427245730390252976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-1037283941055586692011-01-22T09:37:58.735-08:002011-01-22T09:37:58.735-08:00P.S. In addition to succulents (incl. cacti) I usually see a selection of house plants (palms, dracaena and the like) as well as artificial plants.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-12981528248691160452011-01-22T05:40:43.823-08:002011-01-22T05:40:43.823-08:00Some Ikea stores carry plants?!
