Would you consider a schefflera macrophylla to replace your fatsia? It's my current plant crush and not winter hardy here. outlawgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08273973572989510382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-58658389559597353732012-09-25T18:41:52.309-07:002012-09-25T18:41:52.309-07:00No mention of your love of going off DST!!!!!No mention of your love of going off DST!!!!!Bill Ellishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05242261785391607840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-48371308219479781862012-09-25T14:49:14.435-07:002012-09-25T14:49:14.435-07:00You have always talked about a water feature. It's supposed to be more upright, but it gets big.

I think part of my problem is that our heavy soil retains too much moisture, making the grasses grow more lush they otherwise would, which in turn causes them to flop. Just a theory...Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-65701202417590613382012-09-25T14:30:02.349-07:002012-09-25T14:30:02.349-07:00I love fatsias, and a yellow variegated cultivar w...I love fatsias, and a yellow variegated cultivar would be perfect. Gotta see if I can find one locally.

I look forward to making these and other changes. Now is the perfect time to decide and plan in advance.

Would you consider a yellow variegated Fatsia ('Annelise/Annmieke') to replace the white variegated one? The yellow one is much less fussy and prone to pests than the wite one for some reason.Mark and Gazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09427245730390252976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-75785130503251128442012-09-25T13:03:11.130-07:002012-09-25T13:03:11.130-07:00There are some pretty horrible photos in this post...There are some pretty horrible photos in this post -- not technically, just subject matter. Ouch. Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only gardener with some less-than-pretty plants and beds that need some TLC.

That Miscanthus in the front yard -- is that the same one you sent me a division of? Mine was planted too closely to my 'Gracillimus', but is as upright as can be. Does it need another year or two before it starts flopping, or is it just magically happier here?Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13393082652312828458noreply@blogger.com
