We have a lot of Gary Oaks in Victoria and they have the most gnarly branches, come spring you'd never be able to tell with all the foliage. I loved that cloud!<br /><br />Alan, the first tree is a valley oak (<em>Quercus lobata</em>), the signature tree of California's Central Valley. It's been decimated by development, but every now and then you still see magnificent specimens.
