I definitely don't want them to lean forward too much.

No video of me carrying them, but the taller one is still in a pot--I haven't gotten around to planting it yet. At least that's as a good as rationalization as any.

As for your bromeliad bed, I think you could add more height than you think as long as you build a bit of a border to prevent the soil from sliding off.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-72313201434005632992019-11-04T11:03:19.675-08:002019-11-04T11:03:19.675-08:00I love how you phrased that: gardens need to be ad...I love how you phrased that: gardens need to be adjudicated. If and when the tops get close to the overhang, I'll either take a foot or two off the top, or I'll move the cactus altogether (easy to say now, ha ha). In a small suburban garden, it's all about dealing with compromises.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-79329834891953890992019-11-04T10:57:13.624-08:002019-11-04T10:57:13.624-08:00Hey, that would be fun! I'm a little concerned that the totem poles will end up leaning away from the house side where it is darker.

You don't happen to have video of you carrying the totem pots do you? Having had to move my shorter one just recently I suspect it would have been fun to watch you moving those. :)Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13393082652312828458noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-24394735353608006042019-11-03T09:49:39.258-08:002019-11-03T09:49:39.258-08:00Oh that looks absolutely fabulous! Had a chuckle over the "only 1 yard of soil but 1200 lbs of rock were needed". That's a lot of rock to move.luv2gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09883799040439283011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-82139789836529031852019-11-01T20:25:34.142-07:002019-11-01T20:25:34.142-07:00Adding height and rocks really made a difference. ...Adding height and rocks really made a difference. I like all the planting pockets too. Isn't it lucky you had all those plants on hand, waiting for a home ;) I'm looking to do something similar with my former bromeliad bed but I can't build up the height much due to the narrowness of the bed and the fact that it borders the property line.Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-2163776773281441262019-11-01T09:41:18.495-07:002019-11-01T09:41:18.495-07:00That is a fabulous transformation.
