Interestingly there are no bees coming to pollinate the flowers. A few years ago we had a different variety of agave in the flower bed. We were told that all three were octopus agave.
When I search for octopus agave there are some with curved leaves and others that have their leaves point upwards but, I’ve been unsuccessful in finding what the names of these obvious appearing different plants. Can anybody be of assistance? Is the currently blooming variety being pollinated by bats? Or perhaps the bees will arrive after it stops dripping?
We had two agaves with the upward-pointing leaves flanking the curved leaf variety that is currently blooming. They bloomed years ago and the bloom was not as tall. There was no drippings and the flowers were a bee magnet.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fhorticultureunlimited.com%2Fagave-vilmoriniana-octopus-agave%2F&psig=AOvVaw3oIGqc-hih18VKLuzees20&ust=1682872423735000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CA8QjhxqFwoTCLD_mrrCz_4CFQAAAAAdAAAAABAM

https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ranchotissue.com%2Fproduct%2Fagave-vilmoriniana-octopus-arms%2F&psig=AOvVaw3oIGqc-hih18VKLuzees20&ust=1682872423735000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CA8QjhxqFwoTCLD_mrrCz_4CFQAAAAAdAAAAABA0

Thanks, MarkMarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10491429880840709857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-8565662486692810012015-02-04T12:14:29.662-08:002015-02-04T12:14:29.662-08:00I wonder if the many foggy nights (=dampness) have...I wonder if the many foggy nights (=dampness) have contributed to this?
