If the roots look alive but are compacted, I would simply repot without trying to untangle the roots. Root damage opens the door to rot, which you want to avoid at all costs.

Use dry soil when repotting and wait a few weeks before watering.

Late spring would be better than now, actually.

I hope this helps.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-46984810459567429222015-11-19T12:27:29.942-08:002015-11-19T12:27:29.942-08:00It looks very happy in it's new pot! I have one that I suspect is and I don't want to damage it when repotting.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02129950982759164132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-55314020579257895422013-02-11T22:39:02.921-08:002013-02-11T22:39:02.921-08:00I like the color combo of the cactus with the pot....I like the color combo of the cactus with the pot. Who knows what else might show up on their clearance rack?

Becky, I was very lucky to find this pot at 50% off. The shape is perfect and I think the colors go really well with the golden barrel cactus. Yes, I can definitely see the similarity to Olson Stoneware. I don't think they do flower pots though.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-2710392926780438932011-02-07T09:45:46.418-08:002011-02-07T09:45:46.418-08:00Very Interesting and ideal way to transplant your ...Very Interesting and ideal way to transplant your Cactus!
