For example, I wouldn't plant an opuntia (or cylindropuntia) in the ground where I might bump into it. I've dealt with enough glochids to last a lifetime. I do still have a few opuntias, but they're in pots on top of the front yard fence, a safe distance away.

This barrel cacti was $25 when I bought it 5 years ago. It was a decent size even then (5 gallon pot). I tell you, the nurseries in places like Desert Hot Springs have much better prices than city nurseries.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-37348583102369764622016-07-23T14:54:25.390-07:002016-07-23T14:54:25.390-07:00Not surprisingly, Greg knows a lot about cacti as ...Not surprisingly, Greg knows a lot about cacti as well, not just agaves.

The yellow daisy is Baileya multiradiata, or desert marigold. I brought it back from my Arizona trip last December. It's exactly what I was hoping it would be. I love both the silver foliage and the yellow flowers--the perfect foil for cacti.Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-34993439178097750552016-07-23T14:51:58.261-07:002016-07-23T14:51:58.261-07:00Drop by anytime :-).Drop by anytime :-).Gerhard Bock (Succulents and More)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17583583634141549759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-15124828239925275202016-07-23T10:06:08.745-07:002016-07-23T10:06:08.745-07:00Nice to have Greg Starr over to confirm ID! Probably the only thing keeping me from bringing one home is the astronomical price tag usually attached to the pot.Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1615100786320943903.post-2303019187046679522016-07-22T18:38:43.428-07:002016-07-22T18:38:43.428-07:00That stapeliad is incredible and I love ferrocacti...That stapeliad is incredible and I love ferrocacti..... the orange flowers are stunning.
