End-of-February color

This post was supposed to be about something else entirely: rain. Last night the weather forecast predicted a 40% chance of rain this morning, and again this afternoon. Guess what? None of it materialized. As if that’s anything new. So, instead of pictures of H2O falling from the sky you get pictures of flowers in the front yard. Not a bad tradeoff, I guess, but we really—REALLY!—need the rain.

    I know how you feel-- we're hoping for some rain down south here tomorrow or Sunday. Post as many photos of the Leucospermum as you like--they never get boring. What an amazing flower--size and shape and color and texture--it has it all.

      In the process of planting my Leucospermum 'Scarlet Ribbon'. May it live long and prosper. (I must admit I was sad all day yesterday when I heard that Leonard Nimoy died.)

    I really want an Aloe cameronii. I'll never be able to have one grow outside though.
    Same thing in Portland. They tell us it will rain and we get just a little. Pretty dry here most of the past two months. It's that Pacific High Pressure cell that seems stuck way further north than it should be for this time of year.

    You are forgiven, it's beautiful! And looking at your February garden colour sends waves of warmth here. If only we can send back some of our rain here...

      There's still a chance of rain this afternoon. Keeping my fingers cross. I'm not asking for much, just a gentle rain for a half day to wash all the dirt away and give the plants a good soaking.

    I'll take the color anytime! But yes, the rain is important. After two dry weeks here we got a little on Friday, it was amazing to have to water some things in February!

      I seriously need to water all my potted plants if we don't get any rain today or tomorrow. Not what I want to be doing this early in the year.

    Very nice! I think that Agave desmettiana wants to colonize the space on the other side of the walkway.
