Nodding euphorbias
In my gardening calendar, spring is here when the Mediterranean spurge (Euphorbia characias and related species) begins to bloom. My three plants are in the “nodding” stage where the flower heads hang down like somebody about to fall asleep. I love how they bob in the wind!
As I continue to be occupied with a large project at work, I haven’t been able to do any real gardening lately. Walking around and enjoying the nodding euphorbias is the best I can do at the moment. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon!

They do look graceful this time of the year don't they? Looking forward to the flowering of the shrubby euphorbias in the following weeks!
ReplyDeleteMe too! A lot of things are getting ready to flower. And by the end of the week our temperatures will be back to normal, with daytime highs in the low 70s.

ReplyDeleteIt's kinda crazy how alike our Euphorbia look right now, I would have thought yours would be way ahead of mine!
ReplyDeleteIt's the crazy cold nights we've been having. Our daytime temps are close to normal now, but our nighttime lows are still almost 10 degrees below normal. Weird winter with way too many cold nights. I've lost more plants than I thought...
